Typically I prefer my smoothies with fruit only but I make an exception for this tasty and creamy banana spinach smoothie. Spinach is healthy, full of iron, and as for bananas, I personally don't know too many people who don't like them. This smoothie is a great energy booster, doesn’t contain many ingredients, and can be had any time of the day. The only extra sweetness is some pure honey. The base liquid for this smoothie is water but feel free to substitute it with yoghurt or any plant-based milk of your choice.

Smoothies are a treat for me and I don’t have them every day. It is important to consume fruits in their natural form often without any extra processing. Every now and again though, smoothies and in particular, this banana spinach smoothie are a great and welcome change. The creaminess and sweetness of the bananas balance out the green and sometimes grass-like taste of spinach.
Other great recipes you can try are this passion fruit chiller, this mango smoothie, or this corn-based drink.
Ingredients
This banana spinach smoothie as the name implies has very few and simple ingredients. Bananas, spinach, and some honey.

Spinach leaves are a great source of vitamins, iron, as well as magnesium, while bananas are high in potassium. In effect, you are getting a lovely cocktail of nutrients and benefits in their purest forms.
Instructions
Just blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth consistency. Depending on how thick you like your smoothies, you may add a bit more or less water. All you need to ensure is that your spinach leaves are properly cleaned. You can clean them in some salty water and rinse them off properly. The bananas are then chopped, spinach and honey added into a blender and you’re done - this is the perfect smoothie for any time.

Tips
You can opt to leave out the honey entirely, especially if your bananas are very sweet.
